Alcohol Delivery Start Drizly team with wine labels to deliver intoxicating AR experiences via DrinkAR app «Next reality

The landscape of augmented reality marketing is growing rapidly and almost every month, with Hollywood and the cosmetics industry leading the way.

But increasingly, the alcohol industry will find interesting ways to use its liquid goods in virtual space, the latest example being the DrinkAR app.

In collaboration with Drizly, an app-driven alcohol delivery service, three wine brands now offer the opportunity to engage their brands via AR by simply scanning the label on the bottle via the DrinkAR app (iOS and Android).

The winery brands, Frontera (Chile), Trivento (Argentina), Casillero del Diablo (Chile), both offer something completely different and surprisingly engaging in AR.

Trivento's experience lets you into a fully interactive football game at an outdoor stadium (outdoor is your real environment), giving you the opportunity to use your smartphone to score between a goal flanked by two bottles of wine and guarded by a small goalkeeper.

But the most useful AR experience comes from Frontera, who after a quick scan of the label presents you with a menu of beverage recipes. When you click on one of the recipes, which hovers in your real space, the objects become animated and actually take you through the process of making a special drink.

Within each DrinkAR experience, users have the opportunity to order the wine via Drizly.

"We are excited to partner with these innovative wine brands to make Drizly a part of their industry-leading consumer-reading technology," said Liz Paquette, Head of Brand at Drizly, in a statement. "Each brand's augmented reality experience culminates with the next level of convenience with delivery at home, let fans pour a glass of Casillero, Trivento or Frontera wine upon request. "

Overall, the liquor industry has with AR, especially through beer cans and wine labels that provide relatively simple interactions, but these South American wine implementations go much further in the way to show the real potential of marketing spirits to the public through AR.
