Amazon Key, which originally started as a service that would have Amazon driver drivers placing packages directly inside your house, has expanded into car delivery and now garage delivery with Amazon Key for Garage.
The company has teamed up with Chamberlain to offer customers a MyQ-compatible garage door with the option of getting parcels delivered inside their garages, which serves as a compromise for those who may not want packages left outside, but also do not want access to drivers access to the right from the front door.
The only requirement is that you either have a door opener for Chamberlain or LiftMaster with MyQ functions, or add MyQ to an existing garage door opener with the help of MyQ Smart Garage Hub.
From there the Amazon driver can open your garage door yourself, place the package in your garage and then close the garage door.
Of course, this will only be available to Prime members in existing markets where Amazon Key is available. The key to Garage will be available sometime during the second quarter of this year.
