Apple announced its Apple News Plus subscription to its "show time" key, and it is now available for iPhone, iPad, and MacOS computers. The service includes "over 300" newspapers, plus access to news content from the LA Times and Wall Street Journal among other sources.
It is $ 9.99 ($ 12.99 in Canada) per month to access premium content, and registration is easy. If you are using Apple News, make sure your app is up to date and that the device is running the latest software. For mobile devices, including iPhones and iPads, you need to download iOS 12.2 to subscribe.
If you plan to read on your MacOS computer or desktop, you need the new MacOS version 10.14.4 before you can select a subscription.
In your recently updated app you will find "News +", but the location varies a little depending on which device you use. On an iPhone it is a tab on the bottom. On an iPad, it is located at the far left near the top of the side menu. See below:
If you just want to dive a toe in Apple News Plus, Apple will give away your first month for free, so you will be charged $ 9.99 next month. Some extra good news is that Apple allows subscribers to share a subscription to your Family Sharing group (up to six people).
Something that is a bit strange about this free trial is that if you cancel your access, stop immediately. Unlike other free trials, which allow you to ride the rest of the free duration, you must set a reminder to cancel the day before it is renewed.
