Disney Upgrades “What a Character I Am” Camera Effect with Snapchat AR, ESPN + & Disney + Shows «Smartphones :: Gadget Hacks

After an Instagram creator created a viral sensation last holiday season with which Disney camera effect, Disney followed it up with a Sponsored Lens that played a similar roulette with programming from Hulu.

Now Disney is back with a Snapchat lens that takes its Hulu marketing and adds Disney + and ESPN + to cover its entire streaming video bundle. In addition, the media power plant has enhanced the experience with some further augmented reality effects.

So, are you going to watch “The Mandalorian” (again) or spin some Golden Girls callbacks? How to release and let RNJesus take the wheel.

Step 1: Open Snapchat

First, you need to have the Snapchat app installed on your selectable mobile device, which may include signing up for an account. If you already have it, it would not hurt to update it.

Once it has been installed or updated, open the app, which will take you to the camera screen by default.

Step 2: Pull up the lens carousel

Click the smiley icon to the right of the shutter button. This will pull up the lens carousel. Disney + Lens should be the first option. If not, scroll through the carousel until you find the logo of the brand and it is centered on the shutter button.

Please note that this is a sponsored lens, which means that the time on the carousel is probably limited and that there is no Snapcode leading to it. So act fast!

Step 3: Raise your eyebrows

When you are in the lens, you have an empty slate over your head along with a deliberation of the question “What is your current?” Raise your eyebrows to activate roulette. (It’s not necessary to break records to trigger the effect, but why not, right?)

The lens will randomly mix through programs and movies on Hulu, Disney + and ESPN + before landing on a selection. A face effect that matches the program is displayed along with the card. For example, you see T’Challa’s brand necklace for “Black Panther”, Woody’s cowboy hat for “Toy Story 4”, a small fire coming up for “Little Fires Everywhere” and so on.

In addition, each selection indicates which service it is displayed on. Because the point is to look at the programming, right? And if you are not a subscriber, you can press the “Register” button to navigate directly to the Disney + page.
