There is a saying, old and wise: If it has a screen, it can probably run Downfall. Okay, that may not be a real saying, but over the years we̵7;ve seen Downfall runs on everything from printers to pregnancy tests, and is now available on a Samsung Smart refrigerator. Even better, so are all other Xbox Game Pass games.
We still do not think you should buy a smart refrigerator; they are too expensive and provide support far too soon. But if there is a compelling reason to own one, then Instagram user Richard Mallard finally gave one. Games.
No, you did not read that wrong. Over on Instagram, he demonstrated how he managed to get Xbox Game Pass streaming (informally known as xCloud) on his smart refrigerator. With Xbox Game Pass streaming, you can play many Xbox games on Android devices thanks to the power of streaming. Of course, Richard started with a modern twist of the classic tropical—Doom Eternal.
The key here is the Android bit; it looks like Richard managed to download the Xbox Game Pass Android app in his Samsung fridge. Then he also paired up an Xbox controller. The games seem to work surprisingly well in the videos he took.
Let’s be honest; Playing Xbox games is not really a compelling reason to own a smart refrigerator. But if you have one, it can be fun to give it a whirl. And right now, if you own a smart refrigerator, you could possibly do something that iPad users can’t – play Xbox games via streaming.
