When Epic releasedin February, there was a new addition to the island: a volcano.
Players in the popular online game noticed Wednesday that something was different when they landed. The area around the volcano shook and a rune ̵1; a mysterious floating object that showed a symbol – had appeared above.
The players started "feeding" the volcano and the material, which meant that a meter in the run itself filled and made the volcano more active. Later, the volcano ended up accepting objects, which players assumed would be the end of the event, but it was canceled instead and demanded that players place even more items.
Thanks to data winners – people digging the game's data files for clues about what's happening – there is additional evidence that the volcano event may be right around the corner.
What time is the event?
A data winner found the time for an "Unvaulting Event" in the game code on Thursday. The scheduled start time of the event seems to be 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on 4 May.
On Friday, just at noon PT, Fortnite players noted that a countdown clock appeared over the vault on the island. It counted down from 24 hours, providing further evidence that an event will happen on Saturday.
