Qualcomm made a splash in September with the announcement of the new and improved Snapdragon 3100 platform for portable, but so far, the only model that actually uses it is a $ 1000 MontBlanc. Fossil stuck this morning.
Fossil Sport uses the latest version of Google's Android-based Wear OS, Snapdragon 3100, a heart rate monitor, built-in GPS and NFC for mobile payments, and most importantly a price starting at just $ 255. The sport will benefit from it new hardware offering "full battery life" thanks to a new low ambient mode and a steady 350mah battery. The full circular screen is available in 41 mm and 43 mm face sizes, with six different body colors and more than two dozen silicone bands offered.
Between improvements in Wear OS code and chip optimization, the new sports models would surpass the older Fossil Q patterns in both performance and life. The company claims that the clock will last more than 24 hours with normal use, plus an extra two days in low energy mode. Fossil says that they will be available to buy online later today and in Fossil stores on November 12th.
