Now that you have a fantastic Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus in your hand, it's time to try out all its features. While some things may not have changed much from the Galaxy S8, there are still many new surprises to discover.

Use of AR Emojis
One of the most talked-about features on the Galaxy S9 was the introduction of AR Emojis. With AR Emoji you can create emojis adapted to your likeness. While it's definitely not as polished as Animojis on iPhones with Face ID, it's a fun option for chat. While the camera's appearance in Samsung's new One UI has changed, the process is pretty much the same as the video above.
How to use Bixby Vision
Although it may be fair to say that Bixby Vision is Samsung's answer to Google Lens, it's not really that polished. With Bixby Vision, you use the camera on your Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus to get contextual information about some items and locations around you.
Right now, Bixby Vision has seven different categories: Location, Text, QR Code, Food, Wine, Shopping and Image. In addition to the seven categories, there is also a feature called Makeup that allows you to almost try out various products from Sephora and provides purchasing links when you have found the perfect look.
While we have an in-depth Bixby guide, we will focus on Bixby Vision's basics here. First, you need to set Bixby by tapping the Bixby button on the left side of the phone or by seeping directly on the home screen. Follow the instructions until you see Bixby's website showing Bixby Level 1
Now that Bixby is laid out here is the fun part. You can easily access Bixby Vision from the camera and apps applications by tapping its icon. The first time you use Bixby, you also have the option of adding a Bixby Vision icon to your home screen.
When you press the Bixby Vision icon, the different identification categories are displayed. Press the appropriate and then align the camera on the current image. You will see that different suggestions begin to appear. When you have the item in focus, tap the category again to see what kind of information Bixby Vision offers.
How to use Super Slow Motion video
Shortly before Samsung revealed its latest flagship, the company promised the Galaxy S9 to reinvent the camera. Along with lots of other new camera features on the Galaxy S9, Super Slow-Motion was introduced. With Super Slow Motion, you can record video at an incredibly high frame rate (960 fps to be exact), creating Matrix-like videos.
To use Super Slow Motion, open the camera application. Switch to the Super slow-motion option under the viewfinder. You will be presented with two options: One allows you to automatically start recording at slower frame rate when motion is detected in a small box on the screen, while the other allows you to control the image manually.
If you select the manual option, just press the shutter button to start recording. When you are ready to record slow motion footage, tap the three button icon. Since slow playback is less than one second (0.2 seconds to be exact), you may want to press the three-button icon several times to record images in the same video.
If you choose to try automatic mode, press the auto mode at the bottom of the camera and make sure the object you want to capture in slow motion is in the defined box. Press the shutter button to start recording. You see that the box turns yellow when it is catching the clip. As with manual mode, you can initiate slow-motion recording several times within the same video.
How to configure intelligent scanning
While Samsung made a number of camera hardware upgrades, do not expect to The latest flagship has a face detection feature that matches what you find on the iPhone XS. With Samsung's new Intelligent Scan feature, you can unlock your phone using iris and face data. However, warn that the feature has more than its fair share of hiccups, so you may want to create an alternative authentication method.
If you want to give Intelligent Scan a try, press Settings> Biometrics and Security> Intelligent Scan. Enter your password, PIN or pattern. Tap Continue. Select a lock screen option and accept the disclaimer. Press Continue twice.
First, register your face by holding the phone 8 to 20 inches away and making sure it is centered in the adjustment circle. When registered, press Continue. Finally, register your iris by holding the phone 10 to 14 inches away and ensuring that each eye is centered in the necessary alignment circuits.
To get the best information, you will want to make sure you are in a well-lit room without much backlight. You also need to remove the glasses for the iris scan, and once configured, you will not be able to authenticate with them.
How to set up a secure folder
If you have sensitive documents or photos you don't want to share with everyone, Samsung Galaxy S9 offers a feature called Secure Folder that lets you store sensitive items in a private, secure folder.
Set Secure Folder takes seconds. Press Settings> Biometrics and Security> Secure Folder. Press Next> Start. Log in to your Samsung account and press Confirm.
Then you need to select the best authentication method to access Secure Folder. If you use a PIN, a password or a pattern to authenticate, you probably want to choose something other than what you use to access your phone. Once you have entered your desired authentication method, a secure folder will be set up and added to your home page.
If you want to use Secure Folder, simply tap on the website. You will see options for adding photos, apps and files.
How to use Samsung Pass
With Samsung Pass you can automatically fill in personal information such as your name and your email address. Of course, Google provides a similar feature with autofill, but the Samsung Pass works in the original browser.
If you want to give Samsung a try, go to Settings> Biometrics and Security > Samsung Pass. Next . Log in with your Samsung account and press Start. Accept disclaimer and tap Next. Finally, choose your desired biometric identification option and you are completely busy.
Every time you use Samsung's web browser to log in to websites or enter personal information, it is saved in Samsung Pass for future use. When you want to use the information stored in the Samsung Pass, you only verify with an iris scan or a fingerprint.
How to customize your home page
Want to customize your home page? If you do not want to go as far as changing your theme, there are still plenty of customization options. Here are some of our favorite features.
To change the background, long press an empty area on the home screen. Touch Backgrounds and select your new image. You can also add and modify widgets by simply pressing the Widgets icon instead of Wallpaper.
To make more comprehensive home screen changes, long press the home screen and select the Home screen setting icon . From here, you can adjust icon size, change raster layout, disable app icon icons, and more.
How to always customize the locking and locking screen
Now that you've customized your home screen, why not always customize it as you like? While most people are fine with the default settings for always viewing, it takes seconds to change it.
To customize the always-on display, press Settings> Lock Screen> Always On Screen. From here you can update what you want to see on the screen. To change the clock and widgets, simply tap Settings> Lock Screen> Clock Format> Always On Screen.
How to use Live Focus
While lots of phones offer a portrait mode, the Samsung Galaxy S9 turns it into high gear with its Live Focus option. Live Focus lets you create customized portraits that look amazing.
To use Live Focus, open the camera application and swipe directly on the viewfinder screen. Place your subject three to five meters from the camera lens to get the perfect shot. When the subject is in perfect position, use the background screens to adjust the degree of bokeh in the background. Samsung allows you to see real-time adjustments so you can make sure it doesn't look over-processed.
Then you can choose to turn off the beauty filter before taking the photo (it is by default) by pressing the spark icon and moving the slider to zero. Make sure the two Live Focus circles are yellow before pressing the shutter button.
Once you have taken the photo, you will see two pictures in the gallery. One is your Live Focus shot, while the other is a regular wide-angle shot. Fortunately, you can still adjust the background sharpness to the Live Focus image from the slider that will appear in the gallery.
While you will see both images in your Gallery, you may still want to save the images manually by tapping the overflow icon and selecting Save Image . The advantage of manually saving the images is that both will be uploaded to your Google Photos account.
How to Disable or Rewrite the Bixby Button
Although Bixby has improved exponentially over the past year, it's still not everyone's cup of tea. It used to be that you could easily disable the Bixby button, but it is no longer possible. However, you can make it much harder to trigger.
Press your Bixby button to open your Bixby Voice screen. Touch the overfill icon at the top right of the screen and select Settings. Scroll down and select Bixby key and press Press twice to open the Bixby button to make it much more difficult to accidentally trigger Bixby.
While you can't completely disable Bixby completely, you can set it up so that a single tap opens another app. We have compiled a guide just for that, as it can be a long process.
How to customize Quick Settings Tile
Quick Settings Tile enables you to quickly access frequently used features on your phone. Just drag down and you can easily connect to Wi-Fi, turn on the flashlight, or even quickly pair a Bluetooth device. If the number of Quick Settings Tiles seems overwhelming, it may be a good idea to make some adjustments.
To customize your Quick Settings plates, use two fingers to pull down from the top of the screen. Press the overfill icon in the upper right corner. You will see alternatives for Button Order and Button Networks. With Button Networks you can change the number of icons on the screen, Button Order allows you to rearrange icons and remove those you do not need.
How to change the navigation bar
Let's be honest: Samsung's navigation bar is wacky. The reason why Samsung continues to be the standard for the back icon is on the right side is beyond us. Fortunately, it is incredibly easy to fix if you are one of those people who find Samsung's customized navigation bar annoying. Just go to Settings> Display> Navigation Bar> Button Layout. Select your desired option and you are set.
Conversely, if you want to give Samsung's gesture navigation one step, go back to the Navigation bar and select Full Screen Focus . This allows you to hover up from the bottom to go home, go back or gain access to your multi-card selection.
How to hide apps
Depending on the carrier, your Samsung Galaxy S9 can come with many apps which you will never use. Unfortunately, some of these apps are baked and cannot be uninstalled without rooting the phone. But you can hide the programs so that they do not record screen properties.
There are two ways to hide apps. From the Home screen, simply tap the app and select Remove from Home . To hide an app from the App box, swipe up the Home screen and press the overfill icon at the top right. Select Home Screen Settings> Hide Apps. Select the apps you want to hide.

How not to configure disturbera
