Today, Garmin announced the newest member of its smartwatch series: the Forerunner 745. The beautiful watch is designed specifically for triathletes, with customized features for running, swimming and cycling to better help athletes “chase new personal records.”

In a press release, Garmin stated that “Forerunner 745 will monitor statistics and analyze data to help athletes reach their goals.” The watch has pre-installed activity profiles (including those for triathlon, track running and swimming in the pool). This makes it easy for athletes to effectively track progress and switch between activities at the touch of a button. The release of the watch comes at a perfect time when athletes have more time than ever to focus on training.

The 745 is the successor to the Forerunner 735XT and has additional features that help triathletes train more efficiently. It’s as obsessed with government tracking as you are, and lets you monitor exercise load, VO2 max, S02, abnormal HR and more at a glance. The battery life of the 745 is decent, with up to 7 days of battery life in standard smartwatch mode, up to 6 hours for GPS mode with music, up to 16 hours in GPS mode without music and up to 21 hours in UltraTrac mode.

It offers daily training suggestions, suggests recovery time between your workouts and is resistant to water, sweat and uneven cycling. There is even a Race Predictor feature that affects your training history and training level to show you your expected finish time. With this tool, you can also set a goal based on that time to help you work towards your ideal end time.

The Forerunner 745 also tracks your heart rate, training volume, cycling power, running dynamics and other features. Its access to Multi-GNSS means that you get access to navigation satellites even when training in challenging far-reaching environments. The watch has some other features that you can use when you are not training, such as Garmin Pay, smart notifications and the ability to sync and play your favorite music.

The watch is now available for purchase on Garmin’s website for $ 499.99. It is available in four colors – black, neo tropic, magma red and white stone – and is perfect for wearing both inside and outside your workouts.
