Since last summer when Gunn was fired, the film's future has been worrying.urged Disney to rehire him and the stars which urged the studio to get Gunn back.
The resurrection comes as a surprise to some. In August, Variety reported that, due to the content of the tweets and Disney's family-friendly image, he was unlikely to be ransacked, even though Gunn had already made a script for the third film.
So what turned the tide? Deadline reports that Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn was swept off by "Gun's general apology and his handling of the situation."
Release Date, Production Information
So what does this mean for the release date of the movie? It is up in the air as Star-Lord's ship, Milan (named for Alyssa!). Before Gunn's shooting, many thought films would begin in the fall of 2019 for a 2020 theater release. But with the shakeup, and now his return, we are likely to see a whole new timeline.
Of course, the films are not yet known, but the first film shot mainly in London, the second in Atlanta. Guardians Vol 2. used to use all 18 audio systems at Pinewood Studios Atlanta. The third film, when made, is expected to stick to Atlanta for space reasons.
"We shot the first Guardians in England, but because Pinewood Atlanta has so much sound space, we could have the whole production base on the party," says Gunn in the Vol. 2. "Although much of the movie is CGI, I like to have as many practical sets as possible and make the environment as real as possible to balance the CGI elements."
Cast: Who is who? 19659019] Plot news, rumors and theories
Who is dead?
Wife, I'm Adam: Superhero Adam Warlock was hinted at in one of the after-loan scenes shown at the end of the Guardians Vol. 2. Ayesha faces a kind of cocoon that contains a person and announces, "I think I will call him … Adam." Adam Warlock has been a wonderful character since 1967, and Gunn had mentioned that he would include him in Vol. 3.
Don't bother me: Before the firing / rehiring, Gunn told a young fan on Twitter that sweet naive Mantis would return to Vol. 3.
Check the calendar: Gunn promised Vol. 3 would happen sometime afterwhich is meaningful, because we tie hope to that movie to bring most Guardians back to life.
Sly Stallone could be back, eventually: Sylvester Stallone played Stakar in Vol. 2, and when that movie came out, Gunn told the Toronto Sun that he wanted to see more of the character. But it wasn't high expectations to see him in Vol. 3. "I'm not sure of him as shown in Vol. 3, we have to see it, but it's our plan to see more of Stallone," says Gunn.
Let the music play: Guardians Vol. 1 and 2 were acclaimed for their retro audio tracks, selected by Gunn himself. Before firing / rehiring, he was already about to select the music for the third movie – please. A tweet he sent in 2017 claimed that he had restricted the song list to 181 elections and in October 2017 he said that the audio tracks were [almost all selected] . As for Gunn's final choice, he once told about Cinema Blend that he drew from a master list of songs that he thought Star-Lord's late-mother Meredith would like.
