The best way to sit and thumb through your iCloud Photo Library is with an iPad. To edit these images, it is advisable to use photos on a Mac. But when they are not available, you can see pictures online.
Many people do not realize that they can access all the photos and videos they have stored in iCloud Photo Library from any desktop computer as long as it has access to iCloud.com. It's a feature that Apple hasn't done a good job sharing with people, which is a shame because it can be super helpful.
To get started you just need a connection to iCloud.com, your Apple ID and password and your two-factor authentication code. You * do * have two-factor authentication active, right?
How to see iCloud Photos Online
To get started, open Safari or any other browser if Safari is not available ̵
When the page is loaded, you will see similar images on a Mac, albeit a little less skillfully. If this is the first time you've used iCloud.com to see your library, it may take some time while pulling it all together.
You may not have the same editing tools as you would expect on an iOS device or Mac, but the interface will allow you to view some of the photos or videos you have stored in the iCloud Photo Library. Clicking on a photo will open it completely.
If you want to upload a new photo or video, click the icon with a cloud and upward arrow, as shown below.
To switch between Moments and Photos views, click the desired option at the top of the screen.
The option to show your photos and videos online is A Good if you use a Windows computer, for example.
If you want a more seamless experience on Windows, with clear control of your photos and videos, you can download and install Apple's iCloud Photos for Windows. A free download, this app gives you access to your iCloud Photo Library without using a web browser. They are displayed in a special folder iCloud Photos in File Explorer.
