Have you ever dragged right on your iPhone's lock screen or home screen? It's the Today View screen with widgets from Apple's stock apps. If you want to customize this screen, you can add and customize widgets from third-party apps as well as organize everything that's already there.
By default, Apple shows you widgets from the weather app, Siri suggestions, music, favorites, and more. But that's not all. When you enter Edit mode, you will find that many apps you have installed (whether popular apps or indie) contain useful widgets.
You can add extra functionality to your iPhone using third-party app widgets. Here are some recommendations:

To get started, swipe right while on your iPhone's home screen to access Today View. Here you can swipe up to see more widgets and press any of the arrow buttons to expand or contract a widget.
Drag all the way down to the bottom of the widgets screen and press the "Edit" button to customize the Today View screen.
You will now see a list of enabled widgets at the top of the menu.
The More widgets section provides a list of widgets for apps installed on your iPhone. A single app can contain multiple widgets.
When you find a widget that you want to add, press the Plus (+) button next to the widget. It is added directly to the bottom of the list of enabled widgets. Do this for each widget you want to add.
. Then drag up to the top of the page and look at the enabled widgets. You probably want to place your frequently used widgets at the top of the list.
To rearrange widgets, touch the three-line handle icon located on the right edge of the screen, and then drag each item to rearrange the list.
After you add and rearrange widgets, you may want to remove some of Apple's store widgets. To do this, simply press the red Minus (-) button.
Press the "Delete" button.
When you are satisfied with the arrangement of your widgets, click the "Done" button.
You We will be taken back to your widgets screen, with your new widgets and brand new functionality added to your lock screen and home screen.
When installing new apps, you can go back to the edit screen and add new widgets to Today View by following the steps above.
In addition, you can add widgets to your iPhone by long pressing the app icons. Touch and hold a newly installed app on the home screen. If it supports widgets, you'll see it in the context menu. This is a quick way to use widgets without even accessing Today View.
And if you like the widget, click the "Add widget" link to add the widget at the bottom of the Today View screen.
iPads also support widgets but slightly different. You can actually attach the Today View section directly to the home screen for quick access.
