Instagram celebrates its tenth anniversary by letting you change the app icon in October 2020. There are a dozen options to choose from, including the classic Polaroid icon. How to change the Instagram app icon on your iPhone.
Unfortunately, it does not look like the Easter egg is available on Android at the time of writing.
First go to the App Store and check for app updates. Then open the Instagram app on your iPhone and tap the profile icon at the bottom right.
Click here on the hamburger’s menu icon in the upper right corner.
In the popup window, select the “Settings” option.
On the Settings page, swipe down from the top of the screen. Continue swiping down until you reach the end of the screen. You see a series of emojis that guide you as you reach the top. You see confetti when you reach the end of the emoji.
You are now on the hidden app icon. Here are all the options available for Instagram app icons.
Select the app icon you want to switch to. You can choose the classic Polaroid camera, the original Instagram logo or any of the other custom icons.
The icon changes and you will see a pop-up message confirming the change. Press the “OK” button to reject the pop-up window.
Now, when you go back to your iPhone’s home screen, you will see the updated app icon.
You can go back and change the app icon at any time while the feature is still available in the Instagram app.
