How to convert a PDF to a Word document

PDF files are good when you try to send out a form or rules for a game, but sometimes you really need to make some changes without returning to the source document.

Thank you, there are a few ways to quickly change your PDF files to Word documents that are easy to update before saving and redistributing them. Here's how to convert a PDF to a Word document.

Convert with Adobe Acrobat

Mark Coppock / Digital Trends

Using Acrobat is the best way to make the conversion formatting as accurate as possible. However, you need the paid version of Acrobat to use this method. Adobe today offers a free seven-day trial of Adobe Acrobat Document Cloud (DC), which you can use for one-time conversions.

If you need to make conversions on a regular basis, you'd like to pay for the full version, which costs $ 15 per month with an annual commitment or as part of an Adobe Creative Cloud package.

Step 1 : Open the PDF file you want to convert to Adobe Acrobat.

Step 2: In the right pane, look for "Export PDF." ] Click Microsoft Word, which will present format selection: Word 97-2003 (.doc) and Word 2013-2016 (.docx). If you are using a .docx file, you can switch the setup tool and specify additional options, such as the ability to retain fluent text or PDF format. Choose your ideal format and settings and click the "Export" button.

Step 4: Adobe automatically runs text recognition for any scanned text during this step. The text recognition does not always work, but for the most readable text it is an ideal solution. Keep in mind that you may need to quickly reformat your new Word document afterwards.

Step 5: Name your new Word file and save it to the desired location.

Convert with Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is a good, free way to convert PDF files to Word documents – if you already have Office. Of course, formatting is not always correct and the text may not be accurate. If you have Acrobat or do not mind trying a web-based converter, we suggest that you try to choose another option if the formatting is unusable. Despite 1, other solutions may be more accurate.

Step 1: Start, start Word and click "File." Then click "Open" from the resulting menu as if you opened another word file.

Step 2: Find the PDF file you want to convert. You can either search for it by name or navigate to the location where it is stored and look for it. Once you have chosen, click on "Open".

Step 3: That's it! Word will try to automatically convert the contents of your PDF to a new Word file.

Although they do not all have conversion tools, these are the best Microsoft Office options.
