How to create a playlist on YouTube

YouTube logo

A YouTube playlist is the best way to create a customized list that contains your favorite movies. You can group videos together by channel or interest, and share your playlist for others to use or edit.

Most YouTube content can be added to a playlist, but there are some exceptions. If you want to add “made for kids”

; videos to a YouTube playlist, it’s lucky because these videos are restricted due to the US COPPA regulations, designed to protect children and can not be added.

Create a new YouTube playlist

To create a new YouTube playlist, you need to find a video you want to add first and then use that video to create your playlist. The steps to do this vary slightly for web and mobile users.

On the YouTube Web

To create a new YouTube playlist on the YouTube site, find and open the first video you want to add.

Below the video are the various options for offering feedback with likes and dislikes, as well as sharing or saving the video. Click “Save” to continue.

Click Save to YouTube Video

In the “Save To” box, you can either save the video in your “Watch Later” playlist, to another playlist, or to a new playlist.

Click “Create a new playlist” to start creating a new playlist.

Add a name for your playlist in the “Name” box. You can use a maximum of 150 characters for this.

You also need to determine the privacy level of your new playlist. You can set this to public (let anyone search for and show it), unlisted (leaves it public, but hides it from search) or private (only you can see or find it).

When you are happy with your options, click “Create” to add your playlist.
