Last year, Vizio was called on to spy on customers and used these data to target ads. This resulted in a $ 17 million trial rate that pays customers who purchased a Vizio smart TV between February 2015 and February 2017.
From now on, owners of Vizio smart TV can sign up to be part of the story and receive their piece of pie. Don't expect a huge take here, of course, as the average payout is expected to be $ 13 to $ 31. You just need to give them your name, address, phone number (which is how you get the payment) and email address. They also want to know when you bought your TV and what model it is if you know the things, but they are not necessary.
To collect your coins, go to the Vizio TV Settlement website, click on the "File a Claim" button, then fill in the form with all the above information.
Then you are good to go-just hang and wait for your lunch money to pop up. You don't even need to hurry here, either, as you have until April 29 to get it done. If you do not do so before then you give up your right to receive something from the settlement or sue Vizio for this in the future.
It is also worth noting that Vizio, as part of the deal, agreed to remove all consumer data collected before February 6, 2017. It will also make it easier to opt out of this tracking in the future.
