Are you new to the series Animal Crossing ? Do you find yourself behind in terms of progression while your friends are flagging newly decorated homes? If you've lost track of what to do, here are some ways to get started!
Getting Started on Your Island
Introducing Timmy and Tommy, two non-player characters (NPC) when you first start the game, will help you set up your island. Asked to create your character, choose a hemisphere that will affect the starting season of your game and choose a randomly generated map. None of these choices have significance beyond personal preference.
When you come to your island you will meet two animal dwellers who will join you. In addition, your island will receive a random native fruit.
You start by placing your campsite and your accommodation in the campsite. Choose carefully because you will not be able to make changes to this until later in the game.
After placing the tents, Tom Nook, the manager of the company that runs the in-game business, will ask for your help in finding resources to start a campfire – tree branches can lie on the ground and fruits can be shaken from the trees .
When you set these items to Tom Nook, a small ceremony begins, where you "I will be asked to name the island. You will be crowned as the new resident representative of your new island.
After a little celebration around the campfire, he recommends you take a nap in your tent When you wake up the real game begins!
When Naked is awake, Tom Nook will call outside your tent and you will be asked that real time has started on the island, which means it will be daytime if it is currently daytime where you live.
After this you are pretty much free to do as you please, but to continue game there are several things you need to do.
Earn Clocks to Repay the Island Getaway Package Debt Animal Crossing New Horizons Earning Bells ” width=”650″ height=”345″ src=”/pagespeed_static/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif” onload=”pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);” onerror=”this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);”/>
There will be several loans to pay to dear old Tom Nook now you're progressing through Animal Crossing: New Horizons . The first loan you have to pay is the Iceland Getaway package.
To pay off your debt, you need 49,800 watches or 5,000 Nook Miles. Watches are Animal Crossing currency, and you will need many of them to make some upgrades in the game: your home, home, decorative items, new recipes, etc. Nook Miles is explained in more detail below.
The easiest way to earn watches early in the game is to sell fish and bugs that you catch to Timmy in the Resident Services tent. He will buy almost anything, including weeds and fruits on your island.
Work on Your Nook Miles
As Tom Nook said at the beginning of your game, Nook Miles is a alternative currency used to upgrade the first part of your house (s, tent) and to exchange items in the Nook Stop kiosk such as furniture, a larger warehouse and several DIY recipes.
Nook Miles is a new currency in the series Animal Crossing . Think of Nook Miles as a reward program (available in your Nook phone) that encourages you to go through the game – there are several Nook Miles challenges to complete as you play.
You can shake trees to collect fruit, money, and rare furniture falls. You can sell weeds that you pick up to Timmy for watches, and when you have sold enough you will earn Nook Miles.
After turning to Nook Miles for Tom Nook to settle your Island Getaway package debt, you will unlock the Nook Miles + Club app on your Nook phone. The Nook Miles + Club app is an even bigger challenge and rewards program that will generate five new tasks to be completed each day.
You get new titles in your passport with each unlock, and a few points will be added to your total.
By accessing Nook Stop (ATM-like machine) every day, you get a free Nook Miles bonus. Be sure to click on the Nook Stop kiosk inside the Resident Services tent daily.
Increase Your Inventory Space
When you start your Animal Crossing: New Horizons adventure on Nintendo Switch, you will have room in your pockets for 20 items. New Horizons introduces resources such as stone, wood and iron chunks to manufacture furniture and tools, and these craft goods quickly eat up storage space.
By using Nook Stop inside the Resident Services tent, you can redeem inventory upgrades with Nook Miles. The first warehouse expansion is called the Pocket Organization Guide and can be redeemed for 5,000 Nook Miles, so you immediately get 10 new locations in your warehouse, bringing your total to 30.
There are several important items to buy when you collect Nook Miles – we recommend that you pick up the tool ring, which provides a faster way to switch between the tools. The tool ring costs 800 Nook Miles and is available once you have joined the Nook Miles + Club.
Learn DIY Recipes for Craft Articles
First, you will only have access to Tom Nook's workbench, located in the housing tent that Tom Nook has set up. DIY recipes can create several tools used to chop wood, collect rocks, fish and more. Eventually, you can create your own workbench for use outside the Resident Services tent.
The DIY Beginner recipe must be purchased to review the game. The DIY recipe for beginners can be purchased with Nook Miles through the "Redeem Nook Miles" option in the Nook Stop kiosk in Resident Services Tent.
You can also swap Nook Miles for the DIY Advanced Crafting Recipe. This recipe will contain more durable tool recipes that do not break as easily as the narrow tool recipes.
DIY recipes are also featured in the message in a bottle of articles that sometimes wash up on the beach.
Interacting with residents
Talking to your residents every day is an important part of the Animal Crossing experience. Like all good neighbors, you want to build a relationship with them, and in return they can give you some free furniture and DIY recipes.
Decorate your home

As time goes on, you have more money to upgrade from a tent to a house. Soon after you have paid off your debt and opted to upgrade your home, the animals will follow suit.
The first extension of your home will allow you to choose a roof color and the construction will be completed the next morning. You suddenly have plenty of room and a new storage feature to take advantage of. So if you threw furniture on your lawn to fit in your tent, you can now move them indoors and start decorating!
Timmy will sometimes have furniture items til In the sale, or you can start your collection by purchasing various furniture items in Nook Stop, such as Nook Inc. Wall, Nook Inc. Floor and Nook Inc. Rug.
You can also view items in your home, such as the free Nintendo Switch screen that you get in the mail on day two, clothes and any fish or bugs you catch.
Residents of your island will build their homes and begin decorating shortly after your home is built. It is truly a magical experience to watch as they slowly fill their homes with new furniture. If you are not sure how you want to decorate, you can drop them in for ideas.
Expand Nook's Cranny
By buying and selling items for Timmy, you can encourage him to start building the Nook Shop for your island.
This new store, called Nook's Cranny, will offer a greater selection of furniture, clothing and home decor for sale that can be purchased with watches. Before it can be built, however, you must collect some building materials.
Build the Museum
When Tom Nook starts on your island first you bring him all the fish or bugs you find – that's how you unlock Blathers, the museum's curator .
After submitting five species to Tom Nook, you will be asked to place a tent somewhere on the island of Blathers. The owl character will move the next day.
When you first talk to Blathers, he will give you Flimsy Shovel and Vaulting Pole recipes. The Vaulting Pole will drive your character across the river and unlock more of your island to explore.
After leaving the prescriptions, he will ask for 15 new donations to the museum: fish, bugs and fossils. By submitting more donations you will convince him to build the museum.
Catching bugs and fish to fill up your museum is a huge part of Animal Crossing ; many players throw their fish and bugs on the ground to prepare for his arrival.
If you do not connect with friends in Animal Crossing: New Horizons you will miss some important features.

Depending on which hemisphere your friend is on, there may be new fish and bugs you can find. One of the goals of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to complete Critterpedia – a reference book that describes the time and season for all the fish and bugs you have caught in the game.
To complete the museum exhibitions, you must exit Critterpedia. Critterpedia unlocks by presenting your first captured item to Tom Nook in the Resident Services tent. Just select "I found a creature!" menu option.
In addition to collecting fish and bugs on a friend's island, there are a total of six fruits to unlock Animal Crossing: New Horizons on top of your native island fruit. To collect all these six fruits, you either have to use 2,000 Nook Miles to get a Nook Miles ticket that takes you to a randomly generated island with fruit to collect, or you can travel to a friend's island that has other fruit than your own
