Sometimes iMessage group threads are a bit. You do not want dozens or hundreds of messages to fill your lock screen. How to hide other iMessage group alerts than mentions on your iPhone and iPad.
Instead of disabling notifications for the Messaging app, you just enable the Hide Alerts feature for a specific group of iMessage conversations. If your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 14, iPadOS 14 or later, this feature will act slightly differently.

You will not receive notifications for all messages, but you will still be notified when someone mentions you (tags you) in particular.
To enable this feature for a group chat, open the Messages app and navigate to the group conversation.
Now click on the “arrow” at the top of the conversation to expand the menu.
Select the “Info” button here.
Scroll down and tap the selector next to the “Hide alerts” option to turn off the group.
Now you only get one message when someone mentions you.
If you do not even want notifications when you are mentioned in an iMessage group chat, you need to disable notifications for the whole messaging app.
