How to hide group message alerts other than mentions on iPhone and iPad

Sometimes iMessage group threads are a bit. You do not want dozens or hundreds of messages to fill your lock screen. How to hide other iMessage group alerts than mentions on your iPhone and iPad.

Instead of disabling notifications for the Messaging app, you just enable the Hide Alerts feature for a specific group of iMessage conversations. If your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 1

4, iPadOS 14 or later, this feature will act slightly differently.

You will not receive notifications for all messages, but you will still be notified when someone mentions you (tags you) in particular.

To enable this feature for a group chat, open the Messages app and navigate to the group conversation.

Now click on the “arrow” at the top of the conversation to expand the menu.

Press the arrow button from the top of the conversation

Select the “Info” button here.

Press the Info button from iMessage group chat

Scroll down and tap the selector next to the “Hide alerts” option to turn off the group.

Click to toggle next to Hide Alerts

Now you only get one message when someone mentions you.
