How to jailbreak iOS 12 to iOS 12.1.2 on your iPhone «iOS & iPhone :: Gadget Hacks

Pwn20wnd has achieved incredible performance and successfully developed a reliable jailbreak for the A8X for A11 powered iPhones and iPads running on iOS 12 up to 12.1.2. So if you have refrained from updating to the latest version since you originally installed iOS 12, you can now jailbreak your device.

For the unknown, jailbreaking means to unlock restrictions on iOS to access apps and tweaks not allowed by Apple. By doing so, you can completely transform your iPhone's interface and features, using the Cydia app (or even Sileo). And while the list of available tweaks has shrunk due to how difficult jailbreaking has become, a steady stream of compatible tweaks continues to hold out and keep society alive thanks to passionate developers.

It is said that the latest Unc0ver jailbreak method currently works for iOS devices powered by the A8X to A1

1 processors. For iPhone, ranging from iPhone 6 S all the way to iPhone X. The process is pretty simple, but since it is half-cool you need to reactivate using the same steps mentioned below each time your iPhone restarts or shuts down.

Things to keep in mind

Before jailbreaking your device, it is important to note that Unc0ver only works on the A8X to A11 devices, which means that only the following iPhones are covered by this method:

  • iPhone X
  • ] iPhone 8/8 Plus
  • iPhone 7/7 Plus
  • iPhone 6 ] s / 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE

Although newer iPhones like X and R

R are not currently supported, Uncover's developers have indicated that the jailbreak method will work for them in the near future. As such, we will be sure to send an update as soon as it becomes a reality, so be sure to stay tuned.

Apart from that, you must also remember that Unc0ver does not work if you "I recently updated your iOS device to 12.1.3 or 12.1.4. If you were lucky enough to downgrade to 12.1.2 before Apple closed the window or have a firmware version that is between 12 and 12.1.2, you are sure to continue below.

Step 1: Download and Install UncOver [19659006] There are a few different ways to install the Unc0ver tool on your iPhone to jailbreak "The first method is ideal, but Apple can cause problems with it in the future. The second method is better, except that you need to redo the process if you don't have a paid developer account."

Method 1: Open TweakBox & Install UncOver in Safari

Before you go this route, it is very important to note that Apple recalls certificates for unauthorized apps from time to time and prevents you from installing Unc0ver over Safari as With that said, if this method doesn't work for you, be sure to scroll down to the other method to jailbreak your iPhone. We post an update when the certificates become available again, so stay tuned.

Open Safari on your device to get the ball rolling and go to next.tweakboxapp.com. Once inside the site, go to the "Apps" tab by either pressing the "Apps" tab at the top or turning to the left. Select "Tweakbox App" once inside. From there, scroll down and select "unc0ver Jailbreak" to open its page.

Method 2: Install UncOver Using Cydia Impactor

Alternatively, you can install Unc0ver with Cydia Impactor to load the tool to your iPhone. Of course you need a Mac or PC if you choose to go it this way along with the latest Unc0ver IPA file, which you can download to your computer geno Click on the link below.

When you have all the files you need, the page loading process Unc0ver uses the computer is easy and means that you connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC with a USB flash cable, Cydia Impactor opens and draws The IPC file for Unc0ver directly into it. When prompted, enter your Apple ID and wait for the process to complete. If you need a more detailed guide on this topic, be sure to check out our tutorial on the link below.

If you have chosen this method, keep in mind that due to Apple's free account restrictions, you need to unmade Unc0ver IPA every 7 days if you used a regular Apple ID. If you have a legitimate Apple Developer ID, on the other hand, you will only reinstall once a year.

In the end, it's not pointless to pay Apple $ 100 for developer permissions, since page loading is relatively quick and easy. To add it, your weekly weekly limit does not affect your iPhone jailbreak in any way – provided it stays on.

If it is closed for any reason, but and more than a week has passed, you will have to drag and drop the IPA file on Cydia Impactor again and leave. In any case, proceed to the second step once you have successfully loaded Unc0ver into your iPhone.

Step 2: Trust Your Profile

You still have to trust yourself as a developer before you can open the Unc0ver jailbreak tool – no matter what method you used in the first step. So don't open the app yet, and follow the menu below to enter "Device Management."

Settings -> General -> Device Management

Once on the page Device Management tap either "Lebo International Investment Development" if you installed Unc0ver via Safari or the Apple references you entered, if you sideloaded jailbreak tool with Cydia Impactor. Then, trust someone on the following page. Now click "Trust" one last time from the prompt that appears to complete, then exit from Settings and proceed to the last steps.

Step 3: Remove IOS update from storage (if needed)

Before jailbreaking your iPhone, you still need to get rid of any iOS software updates you might have saved in your phone's storage. Otherwise, the execution of a jailbreak will result in a fatal error and error. That being said, we recommend that you play it safely to ensure that the process is as smooth as possible.

  Settings -> General ->
iPhone Storage -> iOS 12.x.x

Open the "iPhone Storage" menu to check saved iOS updates. Scroll down and press "IOS 12.x.x." From here, click "Remove update" and confirm the deletion from the prompt that appears.

Step 4: Open uncOver & execute Jailbreak

You can now start by jailbreaking your iPhone, then disable all internet connections and enable flight mode, then open the Unc0ver app and hit the blue "jailbreak" button. Note that the process is completed in steps, so you must open Unc0ver again after your iPhone reboots and repeat the process at least three times in order for the jailbreak to kick in. You will see some pop-up windows The first few times that you have to hit "OK".

When you understand the jailbreak's device, a super fast full-screen "Jailbreak Completed" message will flash to notify you of the successful attempt. Your iPhone will be respring before you even have a chance to read it, and when it is launched, an icon for Cydia will now be on your homepage. The way is now ready for you to open Cydia, and start installing various (available) tweaks to customize your iPhone and really make it your own. You can even install Sileo from Cydia if you would rather use it over Cydia.

Important Notes

Although we have already mentioned it above, we must emphasize that Unc0ver is a semi-untethered jailbreak, which means that you must reactivate the jailbreak shown in step 4 each time your iPhone is controlled – intentionally or otherwise. It is said that you do not have to worry about reactivating tweaks and mods you have set, as they will automatically work when your jailbreak returns.

Also note that the process may differ slightly between units, in terms of how many times you should repeat the process for the jailbreak to bite. When we tested the method on an iPhone 8 on iOS 12, we found that the jailbreak was finally installed after more than 15 attempts of multiple reboots. But on an iPhone X that ran iOS 12.1.2 it only took three times. So be prepared to try again if your iPhone fails to jailbreak the first attempts.

We would love to receive your feedback on this jailbreak method, so do not hesitate to leave a comment below to let us know how smooth (or rough) the process was for your iPhone. Also, be sure to mention any issues you may have encountered, along with the iOS firmware you are present on.
