According to Swift’s announcement on Twitter and Instagram, the album was not planned beforeleft her nothing to do. So she decided to shake it off and make a new record, which dropped at midnight on the day of the announcement and is available now.
Swift also directed the first music video, titled Cardigan. The singer did his own hair and makeup for the clip, while the crew wore masks and medical staff kept an eye on things.
Aaron Dessner from The National wrote and produced 11 of the 16 tracks on Folklore, which earn bonus indie points thanks to a Bon Iver appearance.
