When Apple introduced the concept of an iPhone without a home button, it brought a new concept for those who change apps often. The home field – the elongated pill-like shape at the bottom of the screen as you sweep up to return home ̵1; also allows you to swap quickly between new apps.
If you are an owner of the iPhone XR, XS or XS Max, you may already be familiar with a sweep up and pause gesture that opens the multitasking view. But if you just need to switch to a recently used app, there's a faster and more elegant way to do it.
Drag this home box to the right if you want to switch to your previously-used app. Swipe right again to continue through new apps.
Not only is this multitasking method faster, but it also means you're much less likely to accidentally return to the home screen when you try to claim multitasking view.
