How to Reject Notifications on Android 11 «Android :: Gadget Hacks

Ever since Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, there has been a hidden feature called Notification Log. When unlocked, it showed all rejected notifications. It’s never really had an interface, so it’s more of a cool thing to enable than a must-have feature. But thanks to a new upgrade to Android 11, it is something that all users should unlock.

In Android 11, the upgraded feature is called Notification History. Technically, the message log is still available with a slightly improved user interface, but message history is the real upgrade. In Android 11, this feature addresses many of its predecessors’ limitations, including easier access, the ability to see the content of the message, and even the ability to open the older message. Are you ready to use the feature? Well before you do that, like its predecessor, you need to unlock it.

Step 1
: Activate registration history

To enable this feature, open Settings and select “Apps & Notifications.” Select “Messages”, select “Message History” and activate the “Use Message History” button.

Step 2: View and manage your application history

When activated, you will notice that this menu is empty. This is because it has so far not logged your rejected notifications. Now that it is activated, all warnings are displayed here as well as the message shadow.

At the bottom of the message shade you will see a new button, “History”. Select this to open the Message History page to see your previous alerts.

In this menu, your messages are organized by time with “Recently Rejected” at the top. For notifications in the “Recently Rejected” category, you will see the app that sent the message, the subject, up to a line of content and the time it was sent already displayed. Older alerts will be collected based on the app source. Select the down arrow to the right to see them.

For older apps, you will select an entry for the app’s notification channel settings. For recently dismissed notifications, the alerts act as if they were in the message shade, so if you tap one, you will get to the corresponding section in the app.
