Smartphones come in handy when navigating a new city. Sometimes, though, a computer is a better place to start. In Wase’s web interface, you can start a journey on your computer and then send it to your phone.
Before we get started, make sure you have the Waze app installed on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and that you are logged in.
Then open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the Wazes website. Click on “Log in”; at the top right (or open the menu first).
You see a QR code. Your iPhone, iPad and some Android devices can scan QR codes with their built-in camera apps. Open the camera on your phone and point it at the QR code. A link should then appear on your phone.
If you do not want to mess with QR codes, you can also click on “Log in another way instead.” This allows you to enter your username and password.
This process will log in to the web with the same account you use on your phone or tablet. When you are logged in to the web, click on “Live Map” on the Waze website.
Enter the location you want to navigate to in the text box at the top left.
Choose a place and you will see some information about it. Click on “Directions”.
Enter your starting point (or click the Change icon to return to a previous place). You can also click “Leave Now” or “Arrive” and enter a time. When everything is the way you want it, click “Save in app.”
A message is displayed on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. If you select a “Arrival” time, the message is displayed when it is time to leave; tap it to start navigation in the Waze app.
The Waze app opens and you get to see some information about your trip. Press “Go now” to start navigating.
That’s all! Jump in your car and go to your place.
