How to stop Facebook's annoying marketing messages «Smartphones :: Gadget Hacks



While many of Facebook's tools are well received, as they improve the experience, the one who is often complained about Marketplace is. The Craigslist-like feature that offers a way to facilitate transactions between users can be a bit disappointing with their warnings. However, you can change it.

Depending on the smartphone's operating system, there are one or two ways in which you can handle these messages. With both methods, you can either scale them down or completely stop them, depending on the useful marketplace for you.

Method 1
: Change settings within the app (iOS or Android)

For most users, start by tapping the hamburger icon (three rows) in the lower right corner (iPhone) or upper right corner (Android). From there, expand the menu "Settings and privacy", then select "Settings" and select "Notification settings" on the next page.

Now select "Marketplace" to display the Marketplace notification settings. You can prevent messages from being received by a particular device (such as text messages or push notifications on your phone), or you can disable all messages by disabling "Allow Facebook Messages". Method 2: Use Message Channels (Android)

On Android Devices Running Android 8.0 Oreo or Later You Can Use Notification channels. With this feature, you can manage different categories of messages for specific apps by changing how they appear on your device and whether they are displayed at all.

To access the Notification Channels for Facebook, open Settings and select "Apps" or "Apps & Messages." Select Facebook from the list of apps and then select "Messages". From here you will see a list of different categories of alerts created by the Facebook app.

When you find Marketplace in this list, you have two options. You can select the text to customize how the message is displayed, with options such as stopping it from appearing on the screen or just turning off the alarm. The second option is to select the switch next to Marketplace to completely disable messages.
