How to unlock your iPhone without a PIN or face recognition



There are times when your iPhone face recognition completely fails and you have no free fingers to tap on a PIN. For example, this may happen when you are wearing a mask and need to unlock your phone quickly. Or maybe you’re in an amusement park, the sun is baking your brain, your sunglasses are on so your eyeballs are not melting and your iPhone has no idea who you are. Wonderful.

In this guide, we will show you how to unlock your iPhone without a PIN or face recognition. This is a nice trick that allows the iPhone to enter your PIN for you after speaking a command. This method should Never completely replace face recognition or enter a PIN manually, but this is fine when you are out and about.

Set voice control

Chances are high that your iPhone does not even have voice control enabled. Follow these steps to get started.

Step 1: Open the Settings app.

Step 2: Scroll down and press Availability. It’s just below General.

Step 3: Scroll down and press Voice control. It lays in Physical and motor section.

Step 4: Switch on Voice control or press Set voice control if you have never used this feature.

Create the command

The tricky part will be emulating how to enter the PIN code. When you get to that point, the screen turns black, so there are no numbers. The best advice here is to first clean the screen, eat a plate of chicken or fatty french fries and then unlock the phone with a PIN with your nasty fingers. Press hard so that you get nice, thick spots you can see.

When prompted to emulate your PIN gesture, tilt the phone until you can see these fingerprints, and then tap these locations.

Step 1: Open the Settings app.

Step 2: Scroll down and press Availability. It’s just below General.

Step 3: Scroll down and press Voice control. It lays in Physical and motor section.

Step 4: Tap Customize commands.

Step 5: Tap Custom on the following screen.

Step 6: Tap Create new command.

Step 7: Enter the phrase you want to speak and then press the blue Done button.

Step 8: Tap Action appears on the same screen.

Step 9: Tap Run custom gesture.

Step 10: Emulate your PIN by tapping the black screen.

Step 11: Tap Stop in the lower right corner to complete the recording.

Step 12: Tap Save in the upper right corner to save this gesture.

Step 13: You return to Action screen. Tap New command in the upper left corner to go back.

Step 14: Tap Save.

Disable the command

You can keep the command stored on an iPhone and simply turn off voice control when not needed.
