Mobile game controls have come a long way, with game phones like the new Razer Phone 2 also to imitate shoulder buttons with haptic feedback. There is nothing like a full check, but especially for long game sessions.
PlayStation 4 control is a natural fit for your smartphone or Chromebook because it connects directly across Bluetooth. Fortunately, it's easy to connect and play your game!
To connect the PS4 control to your smartphone
Start by opening the Settings app and then navigating to the Bluetooth settings. On Google phones, this is under "Connected Devices", while Samsung phones list it under "Connections."
Select "Pair New Device." On your PS4 controls, hold down the "SHARE" and PlayStation logo buttons until the flash starts flashing.
Back on your phone, select "Wireless Controller" from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
Let the phone and control unit talk to each other for a while; then you should be good at going.
How to connect PS4 control to your Chromebook
Chromebooks begin to quickly fill the space we used to see Android tablets, so it's only natural that we want to play games on a larger screen. Depending on the game, you may be able to get away with a keyboard and mouse, but with a controller it will be more universally supportive, because controllers work well with many mobile games.
Start by opening the Settings app on your Chromebook. On the main settings page, press the "Bluetooth" setting.
When the Bluetooth page is open, your Chromebook starts searching for available devices.
On PS4 control, hold down the "SHARE" and PlayStation logo buttons until the light starts flashing.
Back on Chromebook, select "Wireless Controller" from the list of available devices.
Let your Chromebook and the controller talk to each other for a while, and they should pair.
How to use the control
Once you have the control attached to your device, the next step is to start your favorite game and start playing. Some games will have the profile of controllers already there, so you do not have to change anything. Others need you to enter the game settings and manually assign all the buttons. The level of support varies from game to game, so you may need to spend a few minutes before you can start and start playing.
