Google has recently added an incognito mode feature to Google Maps for iPhone and Android. With it you can now use Maps privately at any time, which means you can browse and search with peace of mind.
Maps incognito feature is quite similar to the one you get from Chrome, so you can use maps without having a history of your searches. However, the core site functions are disabled. The upside? No one will be able to snoop on your search history because it will not be saved to your Google Account.
Activate incognito mode in Google Maps
Open Google Maps, touch your profile icon in the upper right and then hit "Turn on incognito mode." You will see a popup that summarizes what incognito mode does. Click "Close" here, then incognito mode will be activated immediately. It is!
You will now notice that an "incognito mode is on" message at the top of the screen. In affected menus, you see a button that says "Turn off incognito" that quickly disables your private session and returns to your regular map experience. You can also tap the silhouette icon in the upper right and then "Turn off incognito mode."
