As someone who is on their third pair of Warby Parker frames and an owner and operator of an iPhone X, an update this week to the glasses app has become excited.to its iOS app that uses enhanced reality and face mapping features for and .
I just cracked one of my arms in my current couple Warby's last week, so I was happy to test the feature not only to search for my next glasses, but also to notify you, dear readers of Warby Parker's new AR feature is convincing enough to be useful.
Warby Parker Virtual Try-On
Unlike the Home Try-On option, where Warby Parker sends you five frames among a limited selection to test, the Virtual Try-On feature is available for all pairs of frames you find in app. When you look at a few frames in the app, you just need to pull down from the top to open your iPhone's camera and see the frames on your face.
AR is really convincing. The frames are correctly positioned – neither too high nor too low on the nose. And there is depth in the picture so you can move your head around to see how the frames look from different angles. If there are different color options for a few frames, you can press to display the different colors. In AR mode, you can simply pull aside to see the next or previous pair. The AR frames are loaded quickly, which makes the process quick and easy and not frustrating.
If you create an account, you can tap the small heart icon to add a pair to your favorite list. And if you really like a couple, you can tap the camera's icon at the top right to launch a 3-2-1 countdown to take a screenshot of the virtual frames on your face to save to your phone or share on Instagram Twitter or via text. There is also a button to add a few frames to your home page for the home page and another button to buy the frames.
Virtual Trial as a Step One
As cool and convincing as Virtual Try-On, I don't think I will just rely on their charms to pick out my next couple of frames. I have a thick head and a small nose, which makes finding the right fit with glasses a little challenge. For someone with my face dimensions, I plan to use Virtual Try-On as the first step in helping me limit the alternatives to five images that I want Warby Parker to send me to try at home.
I still need to know that a few frames fit on my oily head without sliding down my nose, which is an insurance I cannot get from Virtual Try-On, no matter how good it is. 19659016] We're thinking of getting computer glasses? Read this first.
