The PGA Tour’s first tournament of the 2020-21 season started Thursday at Silverado Resort in Napa, California. Safeway Open not only starts the new golf season, but also serves as a tune for next week’s US Open. During this most unusual and terrible year, the PGA had to shut down the game and revise its schedule in the spring, postponing two major tournaments and completely canceling another when the coronavirus spreads. The British Open was canceled, the Masters were moved from April to November and the US Open was moved from June to September.
The Safeway Open ends today, Sunday 13 September. With many of the big names sitting here, Cameron Champ sits at the top of the charts and enters the final round.
TV coverage of the final round is limited to Golf Channel and starts tonight at 6pm to 9pm ET (3pm to 6pm PT).
