The PGA Tour’s first tournament of the 2020-21 season starts on Thursday at Silverado Resort in Napa, California. Safeway Open not only starts the new golf season, but also serves as a tune for the US Open. During this most unusual and terrible year, the PGA had to suspend play and revise its schedule in the spring, postponing two major tournaments and completely suspending another when the coronavirus spreads. The British Open was canceled, the Masters were moved from April to November and the US Open was moved from June to next week.
The Safeway Open starts on Thursday 10 September and ends on Sunday 13 September. Here’s what you need to know to watch without a cable subscription.
Who’s playing this week?
Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth headline the field. One player you will not see this week is Brooks Koepka, who skipped the Safeway Open and also withdrew from next week’s US Open. Check out the top list for all matches and start times.
How about Tiger?
Tiger Woods is sitting here.
