Google's home ecosystem has been a blessing to get your home controlled during an interface, but it's about to get a lot better: Home facilities get a lot of new features just like the holiday begins.
The biggest draw among these will probably be new recommended recipes. If you are using a smart screen, you can already get step-by-step visual instructions to prepare a great meal, but with this update, Google Assistant begins to learn what recipes you regularly prepare and recommend new recipes that are similar. Getting to those recipes gets even easier: just swipe right on your Smart Displays home screen.
The recipes will be tailored even during the day. For example, you'll see thank-you tags like turkey, ham and more that lead to the holiday. Start Black Friday, but it should change to recommend what to do with all leftovers in your house.
Next major add-on, especially if you have more than one Google home in your household, enhances the broadcast feature. Right now, someone in your house can use this to send a voice message to other Google Assistant speakers or appear on your WiFi network (or if you're outside your home, you can also use a Google Assistant phone to send a message to everyone in the house), but this is a one-way conversation. Beginning soon, this will expand to let someone close to the other devices respond to your messages. This makes it much easier to ask your partner to double check the refrigerator before buying a bunch of eggs for prescription.
Smart Display owners will also be able to view and control what media is playing on televisions throughout the house as long as these televisions are compatible with the assistants. It includes models from Roku, Panasonic and LG, so if you have a newer set you should be covered.
Last but not least, Google makes it easier for your family to stick to routines. You can create a new Google Assistant routine from the inside Google Clock app just as you can from the Assistant app. The routine can be set to tell you about your commute, start your connected coffee maker, and put all your devices in a non-destructive way when it's time to lay down. Your children will also be able to hear characters from LEGO City, LEGO Life, LEGO Friends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tell you jokes, play music and even wake them up in the morning.
Google did not give a timeline when when all these new features were coming, but with Thanksgiving next week, we hope some of them would be out soon. When these features roll out, they will handle vacation and everyday life so much easier!
