LEGO is on a Nintendo kick from late, in between Super Mario and the new Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) set. But they do not agree. The Super Mario sets are currently on reorder, and the NES system was on reorder. But now it is in stock. If you want it, take it now.
If you missed the news about LEGO NES, we will pick you up. This set is a mix of nostalgia and features. You have built a replica Nintendo console, cartridge and control unit, an old CRT screen and a “level”; on the original Super Mario brothers game.
The set has 2646 parts and works with the electronic Super Mario from Super Mario audio startup set. Of course, you can not play a real game, but you turn a crank to get the level of the TV scroll, and the little Mario jumps up and down over obstacles and enemies.
The NES cartridge fits inside the console and thankfully that’s where the similarity ends. You do not need to blow into the cartridge to make the game work.
At $ 230, it’s not a cheap set, but it has a lot to offer. It sold out almost immediately when it debuted, so if you want a LEGO NES you should stop reading this and go buy one.
