I fear the dissatisfied comments, emails and tweets I get because of this comparison, but hear me out. There are people on both sides of the Olympic War that probably are just not aware of what the other side has to offer.
In a spirit of complete disclosure, like more than 80 percent of the desktop and portability world, I'm mostly a Windows user. However, I'm an iPhone devotee, and as a software retailer, I have deep experience on Macs. I'm not a Mac or Apple hates with a long shot.
Instead of just framing this as an argument for one side or another, I simply work through standard operating system features, comparing Microsoft and Apple's offerings along the way. Yes, each category will have a winner and we will count the points in the end, but your choice of operating system involves much more than just features, hardware and software support and features. It's about what people around you are using, your ecosystem (including your smartphone and tablet), your business needs and your personality.
Please write your thoughts in the comments box at the end of this article, whether you're "Windows or MacOS fan. Let us know why you're in your special camp."
