Think of movies everywhere as a digital bridge between online video makers. It supports the big four – Apple iTunes, Amazon, ($ 140 on Amazon) .and – as well as smaller sellers like Microsoft Xbox and Windows 10
Anywhere movies are supported by most of the big studios – namely Disney, Universal, Sony, Fox and Warner Bros. So movies produced by these studios will appear in the Movies Anywhere app, no matter where you originally purchased them. In addition, these movies should be displayed in all the services to which you have connected your accounts.
To give just one copy in reality: If you bought Black Panther – a Marvel Studios (Disney) movie – on iTunes, and you've linked your accounts via movies anywhere, the same movie will be available in Vudu -, Google Play and Amazon apps on your devices, besides the actual Film application any time. For example, you can access movies you purchased on iTunes through non-Apple devices such as Roku players and free Android phones.
These are the basics. Let's dive into the details.
What does it work with?

] That list is quite extensive, with very few missing movie stores. This means that you can shop in one of the stores above and get the price or format you want, regardless of which device or app you want to use to play the movie.
Which movie studios are on board?

Movies Everywhere there are some big studios on board, but not everyone has them. Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM / UA are the main bus stops – that means no platform godfather, Indiana Jones, Katniss Everdeen or old-school James Bond. You will also not see any independent supported movies. That being said, films are designed everywhere as an open platform, so any studio that is currently not on board can theoretically be connected later, when the license information is smeared.
Can I buy directly from movies anywhere?
no. Movies anywhere is a front end for your movie library. If you see a movie that you want to buy on the Movies Anywhere service, you will get a popup showing which vendor has the video by clicking the queue option.
However, pricing information is not displayed, and the popup is not mentioned if a 4K version is available on any of the services. You have to click through to see which one is best for you.
Can I redeem digital codes from DVDs or Blu-ray movies via movies anywhere?
Yes. If you have a digital code, usually a deposit in a DVD, Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray case, you can redeem it on movies anywhere to add it to your digital digital library. Just press the "Loose" button at the top of the page to get started.
Will it include TV shows?
No, even though some TV movies and miniseries like the 1990 TV version of It are included in movies anywhere.
What does it work with?
Movies anywhere have apps available for iPhone ($ 654 on Amazon) iPad ($ 319 at Walmart) Android, Apple TV ($ 179 at Walmart) Roku, Amazon Fire ($ 47 on eBay) tablets, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast and Android TVs. Can I really watch movies I bought through iTunes on an Android or Roku device now?
As long as the movie is from One of the participating studios, the answer is an explicit "yes" – we've done it. The beauty of movies anywhere is that you never have to use the Movies Anywhere app after you originally set up your account. So, for example, Xbox and PlayStation users can access any movie that is anywhere compatible in Vudu or Amazon apps on these consoles, even if they were originally purchased on iTunes. And you can watch many of your Amazon purchases in iTunes.
Can I use movies anywhere if I'm not in the US?
Basically no. Movies anywhere are only available to US citizens aged 13 and over. But when you are registered from an IP address in the US you should be able to access the functions internationally.
Can I download movies for offline viewing?
Yes. You can download up to eight units and a maximum of 16 units during a rolling 12-month period.
Yes, under certain circumstances: If you download a file and keep that file on a device offline for 90 days, the download will cease. Also, if you unregister a device, the downloads will cease. If you connect that device to the Internet, downloads should not expire.
How many screens can I stream about movies all at once?
You get a maximum of four streams at a time if all viewers watch different movies. You get a maximum of two simultaneous streams with the same title per account. But again, you can watch the same movies in the other linked services (iTunes, Vudu, Amazon, Google Play), which extends these limitations.
Supports movies anywhere 4K or HDR?
Yes. You can watch 4K and HDR movies with the Movies Anywhere on many 4K HDR streamers and TVs (see the full list here). Note that the app currently only supportsand that it does not support 4K HDR downloads.
You can also use other apps and devices, such as iTunes on an Apple TV 4K or Vudu on a 4K compatible Roku, to watch 4K and HDR movies. Some apps and devices allow you to watch Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, if the rest of your system supports it.
How are movies different from Disney movies anywhere?
It is basically not! It is the same basic back-end technology for that service that. Now, however, it has been expanded to include films from non-Disney studios.
How are movies anywhere different from UltraViolet?
It is similar to thebut it is clearly easier to use. And since Vudu was already in the UltraViolet family, all past or future record-based movies you have with UltraViolet digital codes will be folded into movies anywhere (as long as they come from one of the participating studios).
In fact,to a great extent because Films everywhere does the same, but better.
Are there any glitches or problems?
So far, films everywhere have been largely a highly consistent experience for most CNET staff who tried it. It is probably proof that the underlying infrastructure of Disney Movies Anywhere has already been tested and tested. That said, at least one person has noted two problems: Five eligible films entered each supported service except Google Play and a movie – Argo – originally purchased through Amazon, has not been propagated to the other services, even though it is a Warner movie .
Anything else I should know?
- Like all "free" services, movies everywhere – and the supporting streaming services – collect and monitor data based on usage and viewing habits. Note end-user license agreements and permissions when registering and connecting accounts.
- Playback from anywhere movies is synchronized between your Movies anywhere. So if you stop looking at a scene at Roku, you can choose right on your Galaxy Note 8 ($ 639 on Amazon) or iPad.
- It takes anywhere from one hour to several hours for movies to spread between services. Be patient, especially during the first setting.
