Now you can visit the Statue of Liberty in NYC from Everywhere in Augmented Reality via IOS Appp «Mobile AR News :: Next Reality

Many native New Yorkers, like myself, get a chance to visit the famous Statue of Liberty during school trips when they are children in elementary school. And if you are not lucky enough to be born in the city, you must make a special trip to the monument as a tourist.

Unfortunately, many cannot afford the time or expense of such a great trip to Big Apple to see one of America's true treasures. Now it is no longer a problem, because there is an enlarged reality app that can get you there directly from your palm.

Released in connection with the opening of the new Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in New York, the Statue of Liberty for iOS (no Android version yet) allows you to experience some of the awe and astonishment of the massive iconic statue who have greeted immigrants for over a century.

The museum, which reportedly cost $ 100 million to build for several years from 2016, held an opening this week with luminaries including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, film and television star Oprah Winfrey, and the famous illusionist David Copperfield, who once seemed to make the Statue of Liberty disappear during the 80s.

When users open the free AR app, they have immediate access to an interactive history of the monument, an immersive soundtrack and panoramic views of the statue giving you a bird's eye view of its detail. Users can also place a personalized version of the statue in their own home.

The app was developed by Yap Studios in collaboration Apple and Diane Von Furstenberg, a great collection for the new museum.

As an educational tool, this is one of the most polished and multidimensional AR apps we have seen, with deep historical information on the statue's development and role in the city over the years (make sure to play with the time travelers), and one podcast that participates in the monument's importance.

But more importantly, the app serves as another example of how AR can be used to erase borders and open the world in much the same way as "Lady Liberty" has for millions of newcomers to America for many years.
