Peloton suite with training equipment just jumped from two to four. The company announced the new $ 2,495 Bike +, a more expensive version of its existing cycling system, which better supports yoga routines and your regular cycling marathon. It also announced $ 2,395 treadmills, a cheaper treadmill option for just under two grand smaller than the original.
The peloton does not get rid of its other equipment. The recently announced bike and treadmill fill in the options across the budget spectrum. The peloton renamed the original treadmill to Tread Plus and the price is $ 4,295. The peloton bike retains its name, but drops in price to $ 1,895.
The new $ 2495 Bike + will be released on September 9 and includes a rotating 23.8-inch HD touch screen and enhanced speakers so you can hear your instructors doing strength training or yoga.
The peloton also added Apple GymKit integration so you can pair your Apple Watch just by tapping the frame.
The $ 2,495 tread has the same screen as the Bike +, but it does not rotate; you can just tilt it upside down to adjust your vision while on the treadmill. It is also a smaller machine than the Tread Plus, and the Peloton describes it as smaller than most sofas at 68 ″ L x 33 ″ W x 62 ″ H.
To help lower the price, Peloton also pulled the new slatted belt design for a more common continuous belt loop. The peloton says that the treadmill does not have a front cover, a feature of most treadmills. The idea is to replicate a closer feeling of running on the road by removing the plastic barrier that breaks the illusion. The tread will be released sometime in 2021.
And of course you need a Peloton subscription to Bike + or Tread.
