Prime Day 2020 TV Deals Available Now: Get a 43-inch Fire TV for $ 200, Save $ 630 on a 65-inch Sony

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide to everything you need to know and how to make sure you get the best deal possible.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 starts next week, starts shortly after midnight PT on Tuesday 13 October and runs until Wednesday 14 October. Amazon has already started some Prime Day countdown dealsalso, including offers on streaming gadgets and TVs, which we highlight here. So if you are a Prime member in the market for a new TV, we have you. We will keep this story updated with the latest Prime Day deals in this category as they become available.

Tips for Prime Day Deals on TVs and Streaming Devices

  • Amazon has just announced two new Fire TV streamers: The new Fire TV Stick Lite ($ 30 list price) and Fire TV Stick ($ 40 list) was announced just at the end of September. The former offers 1
080p streaming with HDR support, the latter adds a remote control that controls TV power and volume. They agree with the existing Fire TV Stick 4K, which stays in line at $ 50. Last year, the 1080p model dropped to $ 15 and the 4K model was $ 25.
  • Roku also introduced two new streamers: Roku goes head to head with Amazon’s domestic Fire TV line with its own strong house of streamers starting at $ 30. Unlike the Fire TV platform, Roku now streams NBC’s Peacock service, but HBO Max is still a no- show on both. In the high end, its new $ 100 Roku Ultra and $ 130 Roku Streambar (a mini soundbar) delivers both 4K HDR streaming. The sweet spot remains it Roku Streaming Stick Plus, which includes a remote control that also controls the TV’s volume and power: With a list price of $ 49, Streaming Stick Plus often drops to $ 39 and dropped as low as $ 30 last Black Friday. Hold out at least $ 39 or less on Prime Day.
  • Look for discounts on TVs as well: Almost all new TVs have their own streaming apps on board, and we also expect lots of Prime Day discounts on these models. Last Prime Day, we saw 32-inch smart TVs hit $ 100 and 50-inchers at $ 280. (Check out the current list pricing on Roku-tv 2020 for a benchmark for current prices.)

Best Prime Day TV Deals To Date

As mentioned above, Amazon already has some impressive deals on TVs with integrated Fire TV streaming, two of which are at the lowest prices to date.

Update, Saturday 10 October: The sales prices of the TVs below are now in effect, although some offers from earlier this week, such as the discount on the Fire TV Recast DVR, have expired and have been removed. It is unclear if they will return.

Sony TV has been updated to reflect a price reduction at Amazon. You can save even more if you pay with one Amazon Prime Visa Card.

Toshiba

We did not love the 2019 version of this TV, as we thought the picture quality and app offerings were less than what you would get from a similar Roku TV. But it claims back in battle for your dollar because this is a newer model, and the price reduction is a new low, coming in at $ 10 less than the 32-inch Roku model.

Amazon

The smart home makes weird bedmates, but I guess Amazon, which sells Best Buy’s own Insignia brand, is no stranger to Best Buy, which sells Amazon’s Echo speakers. Both stores now have this 43-inch TV for sale for a $ 100 discount, a new low that puts it below the magic $ 200 barrier. Again, we like the 43-inch TCL Roku TV better overall even though it’s not 4K, but TCL lacks voice control on board and currently costs $ 20 more.

The savings are not huge (yet) but at the moment this is the best offer on a 50-inch TV, mainly because it uses Roko’s operating system, which we like better than Fire TV. As a 4K Roku, the AirPlay upgrade will come later this year, so it can play well with Apple phones and tablets, and also includes the missing Peacock app Fire TV.

On the other hand, we would not be surprised if the price drops between now and Prime Day. It’s probably best to endure a few days if you can. Read our TCL 50S425 Roku TV review.

Do you want a much bigger, better TV? The XBR-X900H is down to the lowest price ever, from the original list price of $ 1600 and now only $ 220 more than the competing TCL 6 series. This Sony delivers the Android TV operating system as well as outstanding picture quality and the kind of next-generation connectivity that surpasses Roku and other similarly priced devices – just in time for the new Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Sure, it’s a big step up in price from the other three here, but the savings are also large. The street price for 65-inches is currently hovering around $ 1000 at most major retailers (only $ 50 more than the 55-inch version), but cutting the screen coupon on Amazon gets down to $ 970 there.
