The first benchmark test is out for the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, and it is not surprising that it is faster than last year's 845. It gives us at least an insight into what can be expected in the 2019 Android flagship phone.
We have to give the mandatory benchmarks not the actual performance indicators talk here, for it is well not the benchmarks that are indicators of reality in reality. They are an easy way to quantify and compare chipset performance with raw numbers and should not be used as anything more than that.
All in all, the result for 855 looks pretty good, especially compared to 845, which is the current chip in the majority of advanced Android phones out today. In fact, Qualcomm claims that it is a performance increase of 40 percent. It's a pretty important number, especially when considering how powerful these modern mobile chips are already.
The Android police recently spent time running 855 through their steps and comparing it with a lot of modern devices like Pixel 3, OnePlus 6T, Galaxy Note 9 and more. If you are interested in their results and how 855 is compared to 845, I strongly recommend giving that post a reading.
But it is long and typical that 855 is surprisingly better than 845 It will be a good year for Android flagship.
