How much of the $ 1,200 stimulus check can end up in your wallet?

The Senate HEALS Act proposes an upper limit of $ 1,200 per qualified person, but that does not mean you can get everything. Your tax record status is one of the factors that helps determine your share.

The first stimulus check, part of the bipartisan CARES Act, left child addicts aged 17 or older and university students under 24 years of age. This new Republican plan would include $ 500 for addicts regardless of age, including children and adults that you claim in your tax records.

The calculations can be difficult, and they depend on aspects of your taxes for 2019, such as yours adjusted gross income (AGI) and if you submitted as a single, married or household manager. We can not say for sure that the figures above will match the IRS’s internal headline, which was based on this calculator compiled by The Washington Post.

But they could shed light on what you can get if the HEALS Act were to go as it is.

What is the biggest control your family can get?

Depending on how the negotiations shake out, the total amount your family may have may change. Here is a look at the hats introduced by all three major proposals so far.

CARES Act: With the CARES law from March, which has now expired, there was no limit to the number of children who could count as relatives, as long as they were under 17 and claimed by the taxpayer on their tax return, according to the tax fund. Each addict would get the taxpayer $ 500. Theoretically, a family where two adults and six children under the age of 17 were entitled to the total amount could receive $ 4,500.

Hero team: The Hero Act, composed of the Democratic-led House and which has never been taken up or connected by the Senate, would place a $ 6,000 ceiling for households of five or more. Essentially, it proposes $ 1,200 for each adult and addict, with a maximum of three addicts per family.

HEALS Act: Like the CARES Act, the Republican HEALS Act does not mention a cap on the amount a family can receive. The difference is that it does not limit dependence on people under the age of 17 to qualify for the $ 500 payment.
