Juzou the Drunkard is one of the most impressive looking mini-managers in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice . His mammoth frame and large sword make it possible to kill him at first glance, seems like a truly frightening endeavor. With a sound strategy and a little bit of forethought Drunkard can go quite easily.
How to unlock Hirata Estate
You will find Juzou in the dormant Hirata Estate main hall. The Hirata Estate area is actually a flashback scene that you have to unlock. In Ashina Outskirts before the Chained Ogre match, you meet Inosuke Nogam's mother in a small house. If you miss her, her son is on the ground just below, so if you see him then you are close. She gives you the young Lord's Bell Charm, which can then be offered to the Buddha statue in the in-depth temple. The offer transports you to Hirata Estate.

When you reach Hirate Estate Main Hall Sculptor's Idol, you are about to meet Drunkard. The path that goes through the burning buildings is filled with soldiers. It is up to you if you want to take care of them or not. Just know that it is possible to avoid them altogether by gripping the rooftops to the right, running over and then jumping down when you see the pond to the left. The drunkard hangs on the other side of the dam.
How to beat Juzou The Drunkard
At the edge of the pond you will find an NPC, but do not talk to him yet. This is important.
Clear the ordinary enemies first
The drunkard is surrounded by more than a handful of enemies and two more lurks in the house to the left. You want to focus all your attention on clearing the area with regular soldiers. Drunkard still comes after you, but the area is big enough that you can avoid him while lurking small enemies for you.
One of the enemies has a large wooden shield. It is quite difficult to damage them because your sword cannot pierce the shield. Without objects, you are left trying to avoid around the shield. You don't really have time for this. Instead, you want to use either the crack tool or the loaded shoulder prosthesis tool. The fire force hits the enemy to allow them to open for critical holding damage, and the loaded shaft breaks through the shield.
When the main area is clear, drive through the house to the left. You will probably find two more enemies standing guard. Take them out while you are aware of Drunkard's location.
Make Drunkard forget about you
All Sekiro enemies than the main bosses forget you for a while if you fly. Since Juzou obviously loves to drink and is probably pretty wasted, his forgetfulness is actually meaningful. To get him to stop chasing you, you can either hide behind the house on the left or run back over the pond and crush behind the rocks. Even if he begins to accompany you, he will eventually stop, turn, and return to his original position. You just want to do this when all the usual enemies are dead because you won't be able to handle a dead blood otherwise.
Now is your chance to remove one of his two vitality fields immediately. Sneak through the house and approach him as he hangs from behind. When the red circle flashes on the back, press R1/ RB to deliver a dead blow. Now you only have one vitality bar to empty.
With Drunkard now on your tail with just one vitality bar, it's time to talk to NPC. He comes with you in the battle against Drunkard, who handles injuries and serves as a helpful distraction. If you talk to him when you enter the area, chances are he is now dead from managing minions and drunkard before you were ready to actually take the big guy on. That's why waiting to recruit his help is so important.
For a big guy, Juzou has a ship in his step, so do not underestimate him. In addition to regular swings that can be deflected to handle posture injuries, Drunkard has three risky movements.
Spewing poison: Drunkard sometimes drinks large drinks and then drinks a cloud of poison. If you are caught in the area, you can quickly lose vitality. The move is well telegraphed, so you can dodge back a few times to avoid it. Then drive straight to him and slash when he wipes his mouth. If you are caught in the poison, use an antidote as soon as possible.
Dangerous grip: Like all other mini-managers, Drunkard has several dangerous attacks that cannot be deflected. The red danger symbol appears just before he initiates one. Fortunately, the grip is easy to avoid. He will return his left arm before he lurks. A simple backward side disappears so you avoid it. Again, you have an opening to deal with injuries directly when he is missing.
Dangerous sweeping swing: The other dangerous movement of the drunkard is a slightly swinging swing of his sword. He leans over and pulls the sword over his body before he does. When the dangerous symbol appears on the screen, get ready to jump. You can completely avoid the attack and kick him while you're close to the air. If you have problems with the timing, you can also avoid this move by going backwards or to the left. You will not be able to get a hit so quickly, but in any case you are sure.
In the case of mini-managers, Drunkard can punish quite simply, because you are likely to face him early with small vitality upgrades and minimal gourd seeds for healing. His attacks can decimate your health, remove more than half with a hit. However, his posture meter, which is shown in the upper center of the screen, is relatively small.
If you take cautious notches, you can take a long way towards tipping the vitality and the position. In general, you should remain as close to him as possible, except after he has taken a pig from his drink. Keep a safe distance until he spits the poison, then return to cutting and deflecting. As long as you avoid his dangerous attacks and poison, you should be able to take him down without too much trouble.
