Unlike its big brother, the little Switch Lite lacks some internal motors for vibration feedback (or “rumble”; if you are a cool kid). If you want to feel the intense vibration Smash Bros or animal Crossing without using a wireless controller, you should consider purchasing the Nykos Shock ‘N’ Rock grip.
Nyko’s $ 25 Shock ‘N’ Rock grip is attached to the back and sides of the Switch Lite. They are cheap, portable and add a bit of ergonomic action to your Switch Lite’s slim profile. Shock ‘N’ Rock grips also charge USB-C cable – the same type of cable you use with your Switch Lite.
But Nyko’s shaky grip does not provide a “real” rumble experience. Unlike wireless controllers, which pick up rumble commands over a Bluetooth signal, Nyko uses Shock ‘N’ Rocks sound as a rumble cue. They connect to the Switch Lite’s headphone jack and listen for any sounds that may indicate a noise, such as a gun.
Admittedly, Shock ‘N’ Rocks sounds pretty funny. The grips have a continuous headphone jack, but you can not listen to Switch Lite speakers while the grips are connected. For $ 25, it’s the best compromise for room-bleached Switch Lite players.
