If you need help to express how you know your mother for Mother's Day, Snapchat and Facebook are here with some enhanced reality help.
On Sunday, Snapchat will offer several mother-day AR lenses to help users create photos or videos for their families. There is a regular "Happy Mother's Day" message, a more playful "Super Mom" lens, and a simple "Thanks Mom" option.
In addition, Snapchat will roll out "My Momma" Lens Challenge, which gives users text messages to talk about how they feel about their mothers.
Starting May 10 and continuing through Mother's Day, users can then share the message with their moms and friends or send the message to "My Momma" Challenge Story, where their message can be selected to be sent to the general Snapchat
Impatient Snapchat users can preview the experience by scanning Snapcode below, or if you read this on a mobile device, click this Snapchat link to open the lens in the app
Lens Challenges (including Mother's Day Edition), effective Snapchat's response to the viral challenges that cross YouTube and Instagram are available from Lens Explorer, which is marked by the smiley face icon on the app's camera screen.
If you're not on "Snapchat", Facebook Messenger offers an enlarged reality option. The app camera already has a "Happy Mother's Day" camera effect available to users.
As the augmented reality continues to gain momentum on the common assumption, experience as these is expected rather than beyond the norm. Will these AR effects completely replace greeting cards? Time will tell.
