After months of stopped calls, negotiations on another coronavirus the stimulus package picked up again this week. On Thursday, Finance Minister Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said they had agreed to restart formal talks on a stimulus bill and the other direct payment that could come with it.

The Democratic-led House of Representatives is reportedly preparing a new bill on financial support that will include a second stimulus control of up to $ 1200 for qualifying Americans, unemployment benefits, hire help, small business loans, air support and funds for the USPS and choice security. The $ 2.4 trillion bill could get a vote in the House on Oct. 2, The Hill reported. It is narrower than the original democratic support Heroes Act, which had a price tag of $ 3.4 trillion.

The final version of the new bill is not yet available. But Rep. Richard Neal, head of the Ways and Means Committee, is leading the charge, telling The Hill that the committee would “review” much of the previous legislation that was drafted when he wrote it.

“The outlines are all there. I think it’s about time frames and all that,” Neal said Thursday, according to The Hill.

Democratic and Republican lawmakers have agreed on the need for a second direct payment of up to $ 1,200 per eligible U.S. adult and $ 500 for relatives (find out which counts as an addictand how old do you have to be to qualify for your own check).

The proposed new house proposal will probably contain the same provisions for stimulus checks as in March CARES Act did, but can expand who counts as an addict. We do not know for sure until we see a draft.

An interim measure for the federal government to fund $ 300 a week improved unemployment lasts only six weeks and ends already in some states.

An important dispute in the debate, the Democrats want a new bill to provide $ 600 per week in addition to state benefits, just as the CARES law did in March. Republicans want to lower the figure to $ 300. The problem-solving proposal puts the figure at $ 450 for eight weeks, with an increase afterwards. The new bill is said to contain unemployment benefits, but we do not yet know how much.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention used an obscure health law to cancel expulsions until 13 December, as long as the tenants fill in the necessary paperwork.

Protection for companies from certain coronavirus lawsuits

Liability protection is high on the agenda of Republican lawmakers. Introduced in Republican HEALS Act proposal, the measure would set a limit on lawsuits against employers, schools and caregivers in connection with coronavirus exposure, with the exception of gross negligence.
