Talks on a second stimulus check have finally resumed – here’s the latest status update.

After weeks of stopped calls, negotiations on another coronavirus The stimulus package has picked up again, with Finance Minister Steven Mnuchin and Parliament Speaker Nancy Pelosi talking by telephone several times since last Friday about the contours of a new stimulus bill and a second direct payment that could come with it.

In parallel with renewed discussions, the Democratic-led House of Representatives presented a new financial support proposal on Monday containing a second stimulus control of up to $ 1200 for qualified Americans, unemployment benefits, small business loans and air support. The $ 2.2 trillion bill could get a vote in the House this week, Politico reported. It is based on the original democracy-backed Heroes Act, which had a larger price tag of $ 3.4 trillion.

Funding to help the USPS manage the election period

Both Democrats and Republicans have advanced bills with an eye to fund a US Postal Service in crisis ahead of an election in which up to 80 million people are expected to do so vote by mail.
