The biggest inertia that the wireless wireless charger has to overcome is resistance to price tag. The design is crisp but at $ 70 sold exclusively through Logitech's website and Apple-you definitely want to make sure you get your money's worth out of it. Let's break down what we loved and didn't love about the stand.
Designed for the iPhone
The wireless charger is a Qi charger offer from Logitech that is styled, clear to pair with the iPhone platform. The stand has a pure white design with soft curves that make it look like it was born directly out of a piece of Apple packaging.
In addition, the bottom angle of the scale is designed to make it easy to drop the phone in without hassle over the location (for that purpose it is very useful). It has a slightly rubberized surface to keep your iPhone in place, a cradle, so you can place your iPhone vertically or horizontally (more about it in an instant) and 7.5w charing power to pull up the maximum charging capacity of your iPhone. wireless rechargeable iPhone (which is any phone, iPhone 8 or later, including X, XS, XR and large variants.)
We have said the iPhone very far and that is because if you do not buy the driver for anything but an iPhone you make a mistake. While you can put any Qi-compatible phone in the cradle as long as the charging coil is roughly in the middle of the pad, it is only charged at 7.5w when connected to an iPhone and maxed out at 5w when connected to another Qi-capable phone. If you are looking for a wireless charging station that works well for a platform homeowner, Drivet is a bad choice because it will leave your Samsung or similar phone that wants power.
For an iPhone-centric household, the dock is angry and a convincing pick for anyone who wants to escape the black and black industrial look of many charging stands. If strict compliance with Apple's design standard is important to you, Powered is one of the few charging stations in the market, in addition to some other premium options like Belkin Boostup, designed with Apple Monitoring to ensure that the charging coil does not interfere with the iPhone's radios. Among other design considerations, the cradles not only tilt a pleasant point of view without a good angle for smooth FaceID locks.
The scenery is surprisingly practical
Talking about viewing angles: I use the iPhone charge almost exclusively for my iPhone by placing it flat on my nightstand at the end of the day and sitting in a cradle on my desk during working hours. While landscape charging is not high on my list of must-have features, the stand is designed very well for that purpose and I really appreciated how well it worked as a landscape-oriented cradle.
Many places on the market offer lying mode by placing two coils in the backrest (so that if the phone is horizontal or vertical, the inner coil in the phone rings up roughly with one or the other). The end result is that your phone is landscape, but it sits much lower to the surface it is on, almost as if it is stuffed with a kickstand.
The horizontal cradles on the powered stand only raise the phone 2 inches outside the surface but it (combined with a nice point of view) gives a surprising amount of difference compared to resting it just barely away from the desk surface. There is also a nice perch if you use your iPhone as an alarm clock on the nightstand.
Case and wire selection is odd
One of the things listed in fine print for the drive frame is that the cases should be 3 mm (or less) in thickness. It is not uncommon and quite a basic requirement for wireless charging. One of the odd details is that the case should be open at the bottom (like Apple's first batch of leather case). Probably the phone is exactly in the cradle, but in practice the end result is a bit strange.
For example, when I put my iPhone 8 Plus with a rather thick Speck case on it in the vertical direction it wouldn't load in the cradle. But if I turned the phone upside down in the cradle (Home button up instead of down) it would charge. Apparently, the precision placement of the coils can be a little too precise if a few millimeters up from the base throws the charge, but flipping the phone all the way up and down does not. The thicker case had absolutely no effect on charging in horizontal orientation despite the bumper thickness on the sides of the case which matches the thickness of the bottom and top.
The second odd choice is how the charger is connected. The charging cable is hard-wired in the stand itself, terminated in a barrel plug and only pair with the supplied transformer. At this price point and in the age range, we expect the wiring arrangement on the stand to have a detachable wire, use USB-C and pair with a good wall charger. While it is good (and expected) that they contain a quality wall charger, the choices they made that if the lead is damaged, you must replace the entire unit and if you lose the transformer, you must contact Logitech to get a unit specific replacement charge.
Is it a business interruption? Probably not. Most likely, you will unpack the driver, plug it in, and it may move once or twice during the product's life cycle. If your pet does not decide that the thread is exquisite, realistic, you probably do not have to worry about the thread. Nevertheless, if version 2 of the product comes with us, we would like to see a standard connection with a removable wire.
But to return to the point that we opened the review on: Powered is an elegant stand. If you are looking for a really sharp stand to pair with your iPhone and want to capture some Apple design, the premium price is probably tasty and will not only look good but also solid construction for curious charger choices aside. 19659046] Price: $ 69.99
