How many times have you hit your Echo Dot behind your desk, or competed to save it from a winding pool of spilled coffee? You should really keep your digital assistant out of harm. Maybe it's time to invest in a mountain?
Mounting your Echo Dot is just a general good idea. Not only is the small speaker easier to hear when mounted at a reasonable height, but it is also safe from your destructive games and shocks. And imagine how the guests will react when they realize that the air fryer on your wall is truly a digital assistant with access to endless knowledge and power on the internet.
A note before continuing: All the following brackets are for the 3 rd generation Echo Dot. Although it seems that the style changes aside, the old generations should fit in the same brackets; it only happens that the new Echo point is about 0.02 inches wider than the previous model. The 0.02 inches are just enough to make a simple Amazon search for "Echo Dot mount" to confuse the touch of compatible and incompatible mounting equipment.
The note aside, you're welcome to hear that none of these brackets cost more than $ 1
TotalMount Wall Mount ($ 11.99)
Are you looking for a simple wall mount? This is it – TotalMount can be installed with screws or attached tape, you can quickly mount your Echo Dot on plaster, glass, tile or metal. You heard right, now it's time to save your Echo Dot from the dystopia on your bathroom counter and hold it on the tiled wall. No more excuses!
Do not forget that this 3 rd generation Echo Dot packs a better speaker than the previous model. If you're going to mount it on a wall, you might want to consider a space where it can be used to listen to music or podcasts.
Unfortunately, there is no built-in cable management for the stand. This is not a lot if you install it directly above a socket or behind a furniture. However, you must calculate cable wiring if you decide to keep a dot above the toilet in your bathroom or on the window behind your kitchen sink. Otherwise, it has a low profile that would fit well in any office, bedroom, kitchen or bathroom. (Alexa, remind me not to install electronics in the shower).
TotalMount Outlet Mount ($ 14.99)
The convenience of an outlet mount remains unmatched. You do not need to drill any holes or screw any screws. Just touch the dot in TotalMount and then turn TotalMount into a socket. Bam! Your Echo Dot is always safe from games and violent table sweeps. Oh, and this is not only convenient, it looks good too. You can pin the entire power cord behind this wall mount, which makes your digital assistant look like a night light from the future.
Remember how this new echo point is bigger than the old one? Well, the extra 0.02 inch means that TotalMount covers two stores, not just one. Is the convenience of Totalmount worth losing an entire outlet? Uh, is "sometimes" a good answer?
Think about which room you plan to use this mountain before you buy it. I personally use all the stores in my bedroom, but my living room has an excess of things. Oh, and do not forget that you can always disconnect TotalMount and move it elsewhere if it's on your way.
Pssst … Looking for something similar to an old 2nd generation Echo Dot? You can take a look at Dot Genie.
MATONE Wall Shelf ($ 11.99)
MATONE is a good option for people who are interested in a wall mount but still want to get on the go. This wall shelf would look good behind a desk or a furniture, and it would make a futuristic look to a kitchen or dining area. It's also a good choice for people who have an interchangeable range of smart devices at home or who might want space for a Bluetooth speaker when their Echo Dot is not used.
While you can of course place MATONE as high or low as you want, be careful not to install it too high or too far from a socket. You probably do not want your favorite digital assistant to let go of a high shelf, and you may not want to buy an extra long power cord. Considering the power cord, you can plug any additional cable around the MATONE back. Of course, you still have to think about the cable that runs from your outlet to the shelf, but at least it will be tight and not cool.
ECHOGEAR Outlet Shelf ($ 14.99)
If you are interested in a tribute to your Amazon Echo but you do not want to drill one in the wall, there is a chance that you will enjoy the ECHOGEAR outlet shelf. It's a replacement plate for your outlet that has a nice little tribute to it. Again, a tribute is a much more flexible alternative than a wall or outlet bracket. You should consider ECHOGEAR if you like to carry your echo point around the house or if you want a space that can be used interchangeably for other smart devices or a Bluetooth speaker.
The nice thing about this outlet shelf, in addition to the lightweight installation, is the small hole in the top for cable handling. Whether you plan to leave your dot on ECHOGEAR permanently or just half regularly, you will know that the curse of ugly cables will not bother your lucky home.
Of course you do not want to keep this behind your desk or any narrow halls. It would be a shame if you kicked your new Echo Dot across the room.
