While legislators still have it could not reach a compromise over a new one Coronavirus Help Package and second stimulus control, there are still about 9 million people which are still eligible to receive the first check who has not done so yet. Many of these people receive a maximum of $ 1,200. And the IRS is keen to pay out.

Since April, the IRS is estimated to have made nearly 200 million payments direct deposits, posted checks and prepaid debit cards, as part of the legislation to offset the economic effects of coronavirus pandemic on livelihoods and people’s ability to work. But at least one group of people has not received their money yet (yes, maybe two).

Who are these people? Mainly those who did not file a federal income tax return in either 2018 or 2019 that still meet the requirements for an incentive check. But there is a catch: These non-filters need to register to get their money’s worth.

This month, the IRS is sending letters to this group with all the details. In the meantime, we’ll tell you what we know right now about finding out if you’re eligible initial stimulus control and then claim it if you receive a letter from the IRS. And here’s what you need to know about when one other stimulus control may come to eligible Americans and how much money you can have.

Who will the IRS contact about the payments?

The IRS said it sends letters to 9 million Americans who did not file federal income tax returns in either 2018 or 2019 and who may be eligible for a payment. This group includes both those who are not required to submit a return and those who are required but have not done so, the agency said.
