Lord of the Rings The trilogy is one of the most visually spectacular fantasy films of its time, topped only by its excellent narration. Also, The Hobbit the trilogy is also there, which is nice. Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin) himself first announced the news and he says that the process for remastering the films in 4K Ultra HD was supervised by Peter Jackson. As The Verge points out, Lord of the Rings trilogies should be of great benefit thanks to its use of 35 mm film and practical effects.

According to The Digital Bits, you will be able to get the two trilogies in either theatrical version or extended editions, and include Dolby Vision and HDR10 High Dynamic Range. You will also benefit from Dolby Atmos sound, but what you do not get is The Hobbit high frame rate, as 4K UHD supports 60 frames per second (fps) instead of the 48 fps that Peter Jackson used for the movies.
