Probably half the fun of TikTok is seeing creators react or contribute videos from other users. This is usually done via the Duet feature of the short format video app, but the company has also rolled out a feature called Stitch that lets you cut and weave scenes from another creator’s video into your own. This allows you to reinterpret or contribute to other content on the platform.
To use Stitch:
- First open the TikTok app and find the video you want to sew. Click the “Send To” button.
- Then press “Stitch”.
- Select up to five seconds from the video you are taking from.
- Record what you want to add to the Stitched clip.
- Sew the videos together.
Stitched videos are attributed to the original creator in the caption of the new video, and the attribute links to the original video.
You can choose in the app’s settings if you want to enable others to sew your content. You can access this on the Privacy and Security page under “Settings and Privacy.” There you can enable or disable Stitch for all your videos. Alternatively, you can toggle this option for each video you upload.
