Today's Xbox One Update adds support for mouse and keyboard

Take your reliable PC game equipment and saddle up mice and keyboard support is finally available on Xbox One thanks to today's Xbox 360 update.

The update also provides a variety of features, but the most interesting thing about the gang is that you can now capture your favorite game mouse and keyboard to enjoy a game of Fortnite on your Xbox One console. Developers can choose to add mouse and keyboard support to additional Xbox One titles forward, but there is only a small selection of compatible titles right now, including Fortnite and Warframe . Bomber Crew, Deep Rock Galactic, Strange Brigade, Vermintide 2, War Thunder and X-Morph Defense will be supported later this month, with Children of Morta, DayZ, Wargroove is planned for support at a later date.

Microsoft releases a special mouse and keyboard through a partnership with Razer as a brand new "Designed for Xbox" approach as well. Both peripherals were specifically designed with games on Xbox One and Windows 1

0, and the keyboard will contain a dedicated Xbox key and Xbox Dynamic Lighting support. Microsoft plans to release more information about the CES products in January.

Simpler game navigation is also part of the November update, where the Xbox One search will now be expanded to include your "Ready to Install" games that exist as part of different members, including your EA access, Xbox game cards and other service subscriptions, which would lead to the game being played with keyboard and mouse a much easier deal.

However, it was not the scope of today's announcements. The new Xbox Skill for Cortana, released last month, has added a selection of new commands and improvements. For example, Cortana will automatically detect and connect your Xbox, and remove the need to log in. You can also quit apps or use the voice assistant as a "controller" now if you want. The app is now also available in beta for all Xbox owners in the UK, complete with British English voice recognition.

Today, Amazon Music is also available to Xbox One for US users, with global support in additional countries in a way "soon". Prime members can use the app to stream their favorite songs and playlists directly from the Xbox One console.

For those who are primarily PC players, these new enhancements should make the gaming on your Xbox One much more painful business, especially when additional developers are hoping for mice and keyboard support wagon forward.
